Case Study - Martha Clara Vineyards

Martha Clara Vineyards, a 200-acre winery and vineyard on the north fork of Long Island (a privileged area in the world to grow vines), came to us looking for a web site overhaul. Martha Clara needed a dynamic web site that could keep up with their rapidly-changing wine offerings. Their existing web site was several years old and out-of date. They were paying a web designer to manually add/update wines on their web site. To top it all off, they were only selling their wines in their tasting room, not on their web site. All this proved to be both costly and inefficient.

Our primary objective was to make sure Martha Clara's wines were prominently displayed on their web site, and that their web site visitors could purchase their wines online. Equally as important was the ability to add or edit wines on-the-fly. Martha Clara also wanted an Events page on their web site to keep their customers aware of upcoming winery events. We worked closely with Martha Clara to create a new web site that was both visually stimulating and functional.

The following is a series of screenshots with explanations briefly outlining how we integrated our custom, easy-to-use content management system with great design to deliver Martha Clara a web site that was the perfect fusion of good looks and simple management.

Home page

The new Martha Clara web site is fully responsive, so it looks great on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones! Not only can Martha Clara add, edit or delete products on their new web site, they also have control of all the slides and featured items on their home page!

Product categories

This page shows a list of all Martha Clara's product categories (wines). Product categories are simple for them to manage via their Admin portal. Once logged in, Martha Clara simply clicks the link for "wine types". Here, they can add new categories, edit exisiting categories, and even delete categories.

Product listing

This page lists all the products (wines) within a specific product category (wine types). Martha Clara has control over all this in their Admin portal (even the image associated with each category!)

Product detail

This is the detail page for each individual product (wine). This page is editable via Martha Clara's Admin portal (see 'Admin portal - product detail' below). The customer will see all the details Martha Clara enters into the Product Detail Page in their Admin portal. In this example, there are product specifications, a description, price, pairing info and a product picture.

Purchase products

A 3rd party shopping cart system is integrated into the web site for visitors to be able to purchase products (wines) securely using a credit card. Everything is fully managed for each individual product in the Admin portal (see below), and Martha Clara has complete control over all the product details, including price, product pictures and other specifications.

This is the important part - where Martha Clara's new web site gets managed. Truevine has developed a web-based content management interface that we can customize for your business.

A secure login screen requires you to enter your email address and password to gain access to your Admin portal.

Admin portal - product categories

Product categories (wine types) are simple to manage via Martha Clara's Admin portal. Once logged in, They simply click the link for "wine types". Here, Martha Clara can add new categories, edit exisiting categories, and even delete categories.

In this example, clicking on the "Wine" link from the Admin portal menu brings Martha Clara to the product (wine) summary page. Here they can see a summary of all the wines they sell. Clicking on any individual wine will bring up the product detail page allowing Martha Clara to edit or delete that wine.

They also have the ability to add new wines. See 'Admin portal - add new products' below.

Admin portal - product detail

This is the product (wine) detail page, where Martha Clara may edit or delete any/all aspects of the wine of their choosing. They can change the name, description, price, details, specifications and more.

If Martha Clara is sold out of a particular wine, but are expecting to sell it again soon, they just uncheck the "show on web site" box to temporarily remove it from their web site without deleting it!

In addition to everything in the above example, Martha Clara can also upload pictures of their products.

Good pictures and descriptions equals more sales!

They can add, edit or delete product pictures at any time.

Admin portal - add new products

Here, Martha Clara can add new products (wines) from scratch in minutes. They simply add all the details, then add pictures if they'd like. They can associate these newly added products with any category they want - or even create new categories (see 'Admin portal - product categories' above).
